Able
Blue
This is light to medium blue gray granite quarried in the
Elberton, Georgia area. The available items include most popular
selling, standard-type monument sizes and styles that lend
themselves to volume production. The grading of Able Blue allows
light waves and small spots. |

Celestial
Black
This very dark black granite is quarried in Africa and is
imported into the United States in block form. It compares very
closely to Impala Black, but it is darker and contains some
variegation that is not highly noticeable. It has the general
appearance of solid black granite. Normal quarry sizes are
usually available, and unusual sizes may be specially quarried.
This granite is excellent for etching and Photo Etching. Letters
blasted into a polished background can easily be read, but we
recommend light HiLite to give an outstanding contrast that
still will not look artificial. |

Colorado
Red
Colorado Red is a dark red granite quarried in the Rocky
Mountains near Lyons, Colorado. It is a variegated granite with
light and dark waves. The grain is very fine and sandblast edges
are sharp with good contrast. In slant markers we stock only
0-10 x 1-4 and 0-10 x 1-6. |

Dark
Blue
This is medium-grain granite, one the darkest blue granites in
the Elberton area. We suggest it to our customers when the
monument design calls for maximum contrast between polish and
steeled finished. Examples would be frosted outline letters in a
polished background, or carving or etching scenes where some
details are polished and others are frosted, steeled or blued.
The small premium cost above Monarch Blue is due to the
difference in cost of the quarried granite. |

Imperial
Rose
This is a very coarse grained pink, white and black granite
quarried in the Marble Falls, Texas area. This granite is
excellent for very large memorials and for bases for bronze. In
smaller monuments it is advisable to enhance contrast of carving
and lettering with dark Lithichrome. Thicknesses of less than
2" are not recommended. |
 |
Mountain
White
This predominantly white granite is quarried in North Carolina.
It has been used in many large-scale monuments and buildings in
the past, but is has not been widely promoted for average
cemetery monuments. It is a very hard and durable granite, with
working properties similar to Salisbury Pink and Mountain White.
It is unique and distinctive in that its light color does not
change much when it is polished. Panels around lettering are not
of much value, and it is advisable to Lithichrome lettering to
make it outstanding. This is a fresh change of pace from the
blue and gray Elberton granites in cemetery memorials. Allow 4
to 6 weeks for production of this granite.

This is a light to medium blue-gray granite quarried in the
Elberton, Georgia area. The standards for grading and
workmanship are very high, and there are no restrictions on
availability of sizes or duplications when the quarry is
producing a normal percentage of top-quality granite. We
consider Monarch Blue to be the granite that will fit the widest
variety of our customer's needs. |

North American Pink is a fine grain reddish-pink granite
quarried in Canada. It sandblasts well and has good contrast. It
is very competitive in price and color with Salisbury Pink.

 |
Northern
Mahogany
This rich brown granite is quarried in Canada. It has a very
strong contrast between polish and frosted areas. Some mild
variegation is occasionally present, but it has the general
appearance of homogeneous granite. Large blocks are available,
and there are usually no size restrictions beyond industry
standards. |

Sierra
Red
Sierra Red is a bright red granite quarried in Africa. It tends
to be more uniform with less variegation than Colorado Red. The
grain is finer and it sandblasts better than the more commonly
known African Red. We are building up our inventory of this
granite, but at this time we are limited to the more standard
dies, bases, slants and markers. We intend to offer only 0-10 x
1-4 and 0-10 x 1-6 slants. |

Starlight
Mist
This is variegated black granite, quarried in Virginia, with
white veins and grain occurring randomly. Each piece of granite
has its own unique variegations, and customers should fully
understand that no certain patterns can be assured. This
material needs a touch of Light HiLite on frosted areas to give
more contrast with polish. This material is not true granite (it
is geologically known as Diabase). It does not absorb moisture
readily, and it has no free silica. This material is about 25%
heavier than other (non-black) granites.
